The Smart City of the Future
Cities of the future will be much more innovative and sustainable. The focus of emerging smart cities will lie on technology to control, monitor, and manage urban passenger transport networks.
The aim is to provide passengers and network operators with a safer and more resource-efficient experience.
This will be achieved through artificial intelligence, data analytics, passenger management, network monitoring, automated routing, and other techniques and technologies yet to be devised.
Human oversight and supervision of autonomous systems will still be required, thus making controller intervention necessary in certain situations for crisis management and emergencies. The control center allows the operator to control various areas of the smart city, such as the traffic load, automated driving, or fine dust pollution.
IHSE as a significant contributor to the ALFRIED Project
ALFRIED is an automated and connected driving initiative for inner-city logistics funded by
the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport. The project’s aim is to develop a comprehensive and complex mobility concept at the test site in Friedrichshafen to generate an efficient inner-city traffic flow model.
With the conceptual design and implementation of the Smart City control center, IHSE plays a crucial part in bringing together large amounts of data from the traffic and city infrastructure and making it available to the controllers. This data is used to create the local data space of mobility for the Friedrichshafen region to allow optimal traffic planning.
How a future SMART CITY control center works
Essential Information & Simple Access
Operators and network supervisors choose the information they need.
Multiple information streams are accessed using a single keyboard and mouse to minimize desktop clutter and simplify network management tasks.
Essential data is shared between operators and displayed on common video walls.
Every operator has the information needed in front of them.
Key benefits of Draco KVM solutions
- Instant switching flexibility
Operators can select and interact with any computer-based control and information system.
- Multiple video and data modes
Our solutions support all standard video formats, resolutions and data interfaces.
- High-quality data transmission
Negligible data transmission delay with lossless image and sound quality.
Modular design allows for customized solutions for future expansion and new technologies.
- Secure and reliable
Designed for 24/7 mission-critical operation with total security. Backup and redundancy features and hot-swap of components.
Flexible and reliable KVM solutions for automated and connected driving
A KVM switch enables any data signal to be displayed on the screen. Control room operational staff can select the detailed information they require every moment of their working day, instantly switching between sources and applications.
KVM technology provides total flexibility and enables operators to choose critical information to ensure the network operates safely and with utmost reliability. The modular Draco tera system includes extensive backup and redundancy capabilities.
IHSE products for total connectivity
- visually lossless transmission
- instant connectivity
- extensive configuration
- redundancy options
Draco vario ultra Extenders
Our extenders transmit keyboard, video, and mouse signals between computers and user workstations for point-to-point, long-distance extension.
Draco KVM Matrix Switch
When combined with Draco vario extenders, the matrix switches add flexible and convenient switching between computers. This allows operators to choose and instantly connect to any connected source device.
Draco tera IP Gateway
The Draco tera IP Gateway provides IHSE KVM users with the ability to bridge multiple KVM matrices over existing IP networks within buildings, across campuses and between remote corporate offices.
The IP module adds remote, IP-based connection capability over local- and widearea networks to KVM systems located at greater distances. SIRA delivers maximum performance with minimal IP complexity.
