Oberteuringen, Germany, September 11, 2025 – The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS will be honored with the Engineering, Science and Technology Emmy® Award for its groundbreaking work in developing the JPEG XS standard, a visually lossless compression technology that enables ultra-low latency transmission of high-quality images and video. The JPEG XS technology is part of the next-gen product portfolio Draco XStreme of IHSE.
Recognition for Groundbreaking Innovation
JPEG XS is designed to combine efficiency, low complexity, and extremely low latency, making it ideal for applications such as live production, professional AV environments, automotive vision systems, and high-resolution display walls. The technology ensures high-quality image transmission while reducing infrastructure costs and simplifying workflows.
IHSE and Fraunhofer IIS: Driving Innovation Together
