IHSE wins seven Best of Show Awards at NAB Show 2016

The Draco ultra DisplayPort 4K KVM extender, the Draco tera compact UNI matrix switch and the Draco U-Switch for USB-HID/2.0 — all manufactured by IHSE — are the recipients of one of the industry’s most prestigious technology honors, NewBay Media’s Best of Show Award. Together, the products won seven awards, presented at the 2016 NAB Show in Las Vegas by Government Video, Sound & Video Contractor, and TV Technology.

“IHSE's KVM products are an indispensable part of the digital workflow for broadcasters and postproduction facilities around the world, and these awards are strong validation of our leadership in both technology innovation and high-speed performance for KVM and related signal formats,” said Dan Holland, marketing manager for IHSE USA. “Winning seven of these influential awards at one event is incredibly gratifying and might just be a record for our company, and we’re so grateful to the NewBay publications for the recognition.”

NewBay Media’s Best of Show Awards are evaluated by a panel of engineers and industry experts and are selected based on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency, and performance in serving the industry. Winners receive an award to display and will be featured in the NewBay publication that bestowed the award.

IHSE’s new Draco ultra DisplayPort 4K KVM extender received awards from Government Video, Sound & Video Contractor, and TV Technology. The product is the first 4K DisplayPort KVM extender with a 60-Hz refresh rate in full color depth. The device constitutes a new generation of digital KVM signal extension using the innovative Lightweight Image (Lici®) codec, developed in cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS. This revolutionary coding technology ensures brilliant image quality at the highest video resolutions with outstanding color accuracy.

The Draco tera compact UNI matrix switch for SDI and USB 3.0 received awards from Government Video and TV Technology. This universal matrix switch offers the option to switch any combination of 3G-SDI, USB 3.0, and ultra-high-definition KVM signals using an SFP modular design. Each port is designed around the IHSE flex-port technology, which allows any port to be defined as an input or output. Frame sizes are available for eight, 16, 32, or 48 ports in 1 RU and 64 or 80 ports in 2 RU. Each frame includes an internal controller card that can be managed with many different third-party control systems, such as Crestron, HRS, DNF, and Lawo’s L-S-B software. Frames come standard with dual power and optional API modules for SNMP.

The Draco U-Switch for USB-HID and USB 2.0 received awards from Government Video and Sound & Video Contractor. The Draco U-Switch enables parallel switching of USB 2.0 data and USB-HID signals to multimonitor workstations via keyboard commands, mouse movement, or push buttons. Switching in this way produces a more comfortable and efficient working environment. IHSE developed the Draco U-Switch to allow users to perform fast and accurate mouse actions across multiple screens simultaneously without having to change keyboard and mouse devices or connections manually.

“Recognition with an award at the NAB Show from NewBay Media’s Broadcast & Video Group is a strong vote of confidence and admiration from our leading industry publications,” said Eric Trabb, vice president and group publisher for NewBay Media Broadcast & Video Group.
