IBC2015 Review

Another successful IBC show for IHSE

On Friday, the first exhibition day, our managing director Dr Enno Littmann and Wolfgang Heppner of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, gave a joint presentation on the lightweight coding technology (Lici®) encoding method that is an integral part of the new Draco ultra high performance extender. An audience of broadcast professionals came together in the Technology in Action Theatre to hear about the new Draco ultra KVM extender series capable of transmitting 4K60 video without frame drops or loss of resolution or color.

On subsequent days, the IHSE 576 port Draco tera switch was the center of attention. On Saturday night it was honored as a finalist in the IABM Design & Innovation Awards for Content & Communication Infrastructure. On Sunday, the first sale of a 576 matrix to a major US broadcaster was announced and featured in the IBC Daily magazine that is a central part of the exhibition. The first 576 port Draco tera enterprise is destined for a project to upgrade the broadcaster’s TV studio to incorporate extended capability and a much larger KVM network.

Many partners and customers attended our drink reception on the stand on Sunday evening. In addition to interesting conversation, visitors were able to see our product demonstrations in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

As well as the exciting demonstrations of IHSE technology in typical live broadcast and postproduction applications on our stand, IHSE KVM devices were also featured on the stands of several of our technology partners, including Avid and Vizrt. These companies demonstrated the benefits of instant KVM switching in their workflows and reported a high level of interest from visitors.

IBC2015 was a unique opportunity for our team to meet some of the 55,000 IBC attendees and become familiar with the rapidly evolving broadcast industry. We made many new contacts and were delighted with the large number of visitors to our stand and the great response to our product highlights.

Next year we will definitely be back at IBC2016 and look forward to providing the highest quality KVM solutions to your projects in the meantime.
