IHSE’s 576 ports KVM matrix switch awarded “Best of Show” at InfoComm 2015
IHSE is proud to announce the 576 port Draco tera enterprise KVM matrix (K480-576) was selected as a “Best of Show” winner by AV Technology during the InfoComm 2015 Conference and Exhibition held in Orlando, Florida, June 17-19. The on-site judging processing was completed by a panel of AV-industry experts who evaluated products against multiple criteria including innovation; performance against category standards; richness/relevance of features and value/ROI.
The jury commented, “The Draco tera enterprise provides end users with a massive KVM frame supporting 4K video resolutions and USB 3.0 with instantaneous switching response for mission critical applications.”
What it does
The Draco tera enterprise is a high performance, modular matrix system for bidirectional signal distribution of high definition video, audio, and data over Cat X, multi-mode fiber or single-mode fiber. High definition video signals such as DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI are supported as well as analog and digital audio formats and data signals such as USB 2.0/3.0. Using the XV fiber cards the Draco tera enterprise offers tremendous scalability with cost effective features supporting Ultra High Definition up to 4K at 4096 x 2160 resolutions.
The K480-576 supports full redundant power and hot swappable modules for full service and field upgrades without interrupting signal flow. With the advanced control interface, operators have the option to manage switching through an OSD (on-screen display), the JAVA-based Draco tera tool or an RS232 serial interface. The frame can also be controlled via any third party external control system with the available API protocol design package.
The innovation is nothing less than the launch of the first 576 ports non-blocking KVM matrix in one single frame.
We succeeded in doubling up the maximum number of available I/O ports resulting in the largest, high performance KVM matrix switch in the market, with a massive frame size of 25 RU and a maximum number of 576 I/O ports, while each port can serve as input or output.
It’s a real non-blocking 576 ports matrix which implies the avoiding of the potential blocking effects of a limited number of grid lines in a matrix grid of several smaller KVM switches or the adverse performance effects when connecting two IP KVM switches by a backbone link of limited bandwidth.
Why we developed it
We are seeing a huge demand for larger non-blocking, hybrid (Cat X and fiber) KVM infrastructures with no performance limitations. The K480-576 is sized perfectly for enterprise sized command and control rooms. It offers the industry first Mix & Match function to allow switching freely between UTP (Cat 5e/6) extenders and fiber optic extenders.
This award from AV Technology confirms to us our solutions provide the best in innovation and value to the AV industry.
