IHSE completes its DVI-I extender series with transmission of digital signals including cross-conversion to analog VGA output

Oberteuringen, September 4, 2014 – IHSE, a worldwide leading manufacturer of advanced KVM products has announced the release of new Draco vario extender CON Units for transmission of digital signals from remotely-located computer units to workstations, including cross-conversion of digital signals to analog VGA output.

Draco vario DVI-I CON Unit with redundant interconnection and VGA cable

KVM extenders for computer signal extension comprise two units: CPU Units are connected to computers (remotely located in equipment rooms). They are interconnected via Cat X cabling up to 140 meters or single-mode fiber up to 10 kilometers to CON Units (located at the workstations). CON Units provide signals to peripheral devices, including monitor, keyboard and pointing devices.

The new DVI-I CON Units are ideally suited to installations that require video signals produced by modern computers with DVI, DisplayPort or HDMI video outputs to be displayed on legacy VGA-input monitors. They include the provision for USB-HID connection for local keyboard and mouse support.

The devices are compatible with any Draco vario extenders and upgrade modules, including DisplayPort and HDMI CPU Units as well as Draco tera matrix switches for installations with up to 288 ports.

The new, low cost, and compact single-board CON Unit populates one slot in a multi-card enclosure providing flexibility and minimal space requirement. To satisfy diverse uses and fields of application, the Draco vario DVI-I extender is optionally available with redundant interconnection to ensure uninterrupted operation in the case of link failure.

The full range of IHSE KVM products, including the new Draco vario DVI-I CON Units, will be available for demonstration at IBC in Amsterdam, September 12-16, 2014. Booth 7.B30.
